Standards
Editorial standards & AI
The PropTech News publishes short, original briefings on the technology changing how property works. These standards explain how we choose, write, review and correct that work, and how we use AI.
Sources and attribution
- Every briefing links to its primary source — the company, regulator, government or professional body that published it.
- Where we rely on another publication's reporting, we say so and link to it as secondary reporting.
- Vendor and company claims are attributed to the company. We say when results have not been independently verified.
- We show the original source publication date separately from our own publication and update dates.
- We do not invent quotes, figures, people or events, and we do not reproduce source text beyond short factual summary.
Reporting and analysis
Each briefing separates what happened from what we think it means. The reporting section summarises the source. The “Why it matters” section is clearly labelled analysis by the News Desk.
How we use AI
The newsroom uses AI to help with collection and first drafts. Specifically, our system checks a short list of allowlisted public sources, retrieves the text of new items, and asks an AI model to draft a short briefing grounded only in that text, with uncertainties flagged.
- AI drafts are never published automatically. Every draft waits in an editorial review queue until a person publishes it.
- Where the source text cannot be retrieved in full, no draft is written.
- Articles drafted with AI carry an “AI-assisted” label and a disclosure line explaining how they were produced.
- Our launch-edition briefings are labelled “AI-assisted briefing; sources checked 4 November 2026”. That means the drafts were checked against the linked sources on that date before publication.
- Images are licensed photography, credited, and captioned “Illustrative image” unless they show the actual subject.
Bylines
Briefings are bylined “News Desk”. We will add named bylines for original reporting and commissioned analysis as the team grows; we do not invent author names.
Commercial independence
Partnerships fund the publication but never buy coverage. Partner content is always labelled and kept apart from reporting. See Partner with us.
Corrections
We correct errors promptly and say what changed. See our corrections policy.
